Handmade with 100% rye flour, our Baltic Fruits & Nuts is a classic Latvian celebration rye. This dense and hearty sourdough bread takes our classic rupjmaize (Baltic Rye) dough and loads it with hazelnuts, prunes, raisins, and dried apricots. This wheat-free and preservative-free bread, which stays fresh and tasty for weeks, is made with whole grain rye flour, natural sourdough leavening, rye malt made by our friends at Rabbit Hill Malt (in southern NJ), and a touch of honey for that added sweetness. It's a guaranteed crowd-pleaser that goes well with the saltiest of belly loxes, herring in wine sauce, and whitefish.
